My Mission
My Heart for Korea
I long to see the restoration of Jesus Christ as King over a united Korea. I long for the spirit of suicide to be broken, and for the Korean people to put their identity in who they are through Christ rather than anything of the world, and for the freedom of life with Christ to spread like a wildfire over this beautiful nation.
South Korea:
According to the OECD, South Korea has the second-highest suicide rate in the world and the highest rate of hospitalizations for mental illnesses; primarily among adolescents and the elderly. Every year during exam season there is a national suicide watch to try to prevent more deaths.
South Korea also has the highest plastic surgeries per capita with some estimates as high as 1 in every 3 women having cosmetic surgery.
North Korea:
Christianity, and even just saying the name of Jesus is illegal in North Korea. If someone is discovered to be Christian, they are brought to labor camps run by the government as political criminals where they are often tortured or even killed. Christian persecution in North Korea is extreme and meeting other Christians to worship is nearly impossible. Most Christians do not even tell their own children about their faith until the kids are young adults, for fear that they might say something and get caught.
Please join me in prayer for North and South Korea alike.
